Official: Toshiba AT200 (Excite) will be just 7.7mm thick

IFA 2011: Third time lucky

Toshiba has announced the launch the AT200, a follow up tablet to the AT100, at its keynote speech at IFA in Berlin.

The new 10.1-inch Honeycomb (3.2) tablet will come with a 1280x800 resolution screen, 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor, with 1GB of RAM and storage up to 64GB.

There will be a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, as well as a forward-facing one for video calling.

At just 7.7mm thick it's one of the thinnest tablets on the block to date (it's over 1mm thinner than the iPad 2) and weighs just 558 grams. The full dimensions are:?256mm x 176mm x 7.7mm.

Toshiba is promising 8 hours of battery life from a single charge.

The announcement comes as Toshiba confirmed that the new tablet's predecessor, the AT100, went on sale in the UK.?
