IFA 2011: Thin is in
The PC laptop is about to get sexy, following a new chip released by Intel and a new Ultrabook released by?Lenovo, at this year’s IFA in Berlin, Germany.
Lenovo used its IFA press conference to launch the IdeaPad U300s a new Ultrabook that is both thin and powerful that's planning on taking on the Apple MacBook Air, and more close to home the new?Asus UX31 Ultrabook.
The model, which Pocket-lint can confirm will be coming the UK, will be powered by Intel’s 2nd-Gen Core processors giving PC users power and 8 hours of battery life.
The "MacBook Air" slim U300s Ultrabook will come with the 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processor with Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and boot up in as little as 10 seconds with Enhanced Experience 2.0 RapidDrive SSD technology.
Sporting a 13.3-inch, 16:9 widescreen HD display, 4GB DDR3 memory and up to 256GB of SSD storage it measures 14.9mm thick and is built from a single-piece aluminium shell.
Available in Graphite Grey or limited-edition Clementine Orange other smart technologies include the one-of-a-kind Breathable Keyboard that lets air flow in through the keyboard and out of the sides and rear hinge.
Also included is Bluetooth, high-speed 802.11n Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 connectors, as well as an integrated 1.3M (720p HD) webcam.
The new model is expected to be available in October.
